Fifth-year Pandas Volleyball outside hitter Meg Casault is the conference’s third star after breaking the Canada West all-time career kills mark during the Pandas sweep of the nationally ranked UBC Okanagan Heat.

Casault recorded her 1,255th career kill in the opening set of Saturday night’s 3-0 win over the Heat. She breaks the old mark set by former Pandas volleyball MVP Tawana McLeod (nee Wardlaw), who set the previous conference record of 1,254 career kills in 2006.

Entering the weekend set against the Heat 14 kills shy of the record, Casault spun 12 kills Saturday, while also recording 10 digs, as the Pandas knocked off the No. 9 Heat in straight sets.

The Edmonton product set the conference record early the next night, as her record-breaking kill gave the Pandas a 19-13 lead in the opening set. Casault spun in another 12 kills on Saturday, to go along with five digs, en route to a second-straight 3-0 win over UBCO.

The undefeated and top ranked Pandas will aim another pair of wins over a nationally ranked opponent this weekend, as they travel to UBC to take on the 16-4 UBC Thunderbirds.
