HEADLINES:

* After pulling out two regulation wins against the Dinos, Mount Royal dropped their last two games to Alberta.

* The Cougars proved they could skate with and beat the world’s best. They defeated Calgary with three Olympians on their roster.

* Manitoba has won all six of their games since returning from the holiday break. They have swept Lethbridge, Regina and Saskatchewan.

THE SERIES:

The Bisons are 2-7-1 against the Cougars all-time. Manitoba outscored Mount Royal 7-2 in their two wins over the Cougars in October.

MOUNT ROYAL COUGARS (3-1-15-3, 7th in Canada West)

Three of Mount Royal’s four wins have come against the Calgary Dinos. The other was a 2-0 win over the Regina Cougars on Nov. 22.

Reanna Arnold claimed the points lead two weekends ago and remains atop team scoring with 2 goals, 8 assists and 10 points. Arnold has played in all but two of Mount Royal’s game this season.

Tanika Dawson and Delaney Edwards lead the squad with 4 goals each. Fifth year Janessa Jenkins is right behind them with 3 on the season.

MANITOBA BISONS (12-4-5-1, 2nd in Canada West)

Rookie Alanna Sharman is running away with the Rookie of the Year Award. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native leads her team in every major offensive category.

Sharman has 15 goals, 13 assists and 28 points, all of which are tops on her team. She is second place in Canada West scoring to only Iya Gavrilova of the Calgary Dinos.

Rachel Dyck is the go-to goaltender for the Bisons. She has a .940 save percentage which is number one in the conference. She is second to only Lindsay Post of Alberta with a 1.24 GAA.
