'Horns host front half of home-and-home with Mount Royal

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Following a weekend sweep of the Calgary Dinos, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's hockey team faces another southern Alberta rival, taking on the Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home series. The weekend set starts in Lethbridge Friday night and continues Saturday night in Calgary.
 
Puck drops both nights at 7:00pm.
 
The 'Horns (5-1-2-0) remained fourth in the CIS Top 10 ranking this week; the third consecutive week the team has placed in the national rankings.

Improving Pandas host second place Huskies

EDMONTON, AB - Fresh off a weekend sweep the University of Alberta Pandas hockey (4-4-0-0) team will now set their sights on the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (5-1-1-1) in an inter-provincial clash this weekend at Clare Drake Arena. The Pandas will host the Huskies on Friday night at 7:00 p.m., while game two will be 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Saturdays 1-0 win over Mount Royal was Alberta’s third consecutive victory, and vaulted the Pandas back to .500 with a 4-4 record following their 2-1 win on Friday. The Huskies, meanwhile, come to Edmonton riding their own three game win streak, and their 18 points puts them behind only Lethbridge in the conference standings.

Cougars play host to visiting T-Birds

REGINA, SK - The University of Regina women's hockey team will host two Canada West games this weekend as the UBC Thunderbirds are in town. The teams will square off on Friday and Saturday night at The Co-operators Centre.

The Cougars are coming off two losses against the Saskatchewan Huskies, dropping a 5-3 decision in Saskatoon on Friday and then losing 2-1 in double overtime in Regina on Saturday. Meghan Sherven,Bailey Braden and Caitlin Dempsey scored on Friday, while Emma Waldenberger (pictured) added to her Canada West-leading goal total with her eighth of the season on Saturday.
