SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan Huskies ended their regular season on a high note, winning 2-0 over the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Saturday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.

With the win, the Huskies finish fourth in the Canada West women's hockey standings at 15-10-3 and will host a conference quarter-final series. The Pronghorns finish eighth at 4-12-3 and out of the playoff picture.

Huskies' Kaitlin Willoughby opened the scoring in the first period at 11:44. Courtney Cormack tricked Pronghorns goalie Alicia Anderson into focusing on her before passing it to Willoughby for a wide-open shot at net.

The Huskies increased their lead to 2-0 early in the second period at 8:26. Pressing the net on the power play, Bailee Bourassa shot the puck into the top of the net.

The third period remained scoreless, punctuated by penalties preventing the Pronghorns from regaining momentum.

Pronghorns goalie Alicia Anderson saved 40 shots, including shutting down the Huskies in both of their double power play opportunities. The Huskies shutout was shared between Cassidy Hendricks and Jasey Rae Book making a combined 13 saves.

The Huskies will go into quarter-finals next weekend at home against the Regina Cougars.
