MBB: Cougars jump past Vikes with buzzer-beater
FRIDAY, JAN. 5: Benjamin Hillis played the role of hero for the Regina Cougars Friday night in their 82-79 win over the Victoria Vikes. The third-year guard nailed a triple as time expired to run Regina's record to 8-3. Victoria would avenge the loss the following night in another three-point affair, as the Vikes earned an 83-80 win.

SATURDAY, JAN. 6: Victoria and Regina provided plenty of intrigue on the court this weekend, as Saturday night also delivered a late-game winner. Katie Langdon's layup on the final play of the game lifted the Vikes to a 70-69 win over the Cougars. The win moved Victoria to 7-5 on the season with four weeks remaining in the CW regular season.
MVB: Packed house sees Bobcats prove supremacy
SATURDAY, JAN. 6: The Brandon Bobcats proved they're the best men's volleyball team in Canada West (and by extension the nation) this past weekend, going a perfect 6-0 against the Trinity Western Spartans. A capacity crowd Saturday night liked what they saw, as the No. 1 (TWU) and No. 2 (Brandon) teams in the nation went head-to-head. Thanks to the convincing sweep, the 'Cats moved to No. 1 in the U SPORTS top 10 released Tuesday.
HKY: Alberta delivers OT magic vs. Manitoba
SATURDAY, JAN. 6: Alberta provided a double serving of overtime heroics against the Manitoba Bisons Saturday night on the ice, as the Pandas and Golden Bears both needed extra time to down the Herd. In the Manitoba capital, Abby Benning scored 2:40 into double-overtime to hand the Pandas a 1-0 win. Meanwhile in Edmonton, Luke Philp's OT winner with 1:37 remaining in the first OT period gave the Bears a 5-4 victory. Both Alberta squads clinched playoff berths over the weekend with sweeps of Manitoba.
MHKY: Dinos down top dogs in style
SATURDAY, JAN. 6: The Calgary Dinos joined Alberta as the only two teams to have handed the Saskatchewan Huskies a loss this season. After falling 3-1 Friday to the Huskies, the Dinos bounced back Saturday with a 3-0 home win. Dane Gibson netted a pair in the victory, while Matt Greenfield stopped all 19 shots he faced to record his third shutout of the season.
