Eight Dinos invited to CFL Combines

CALGARY – A total of eightUniversity of Calgary Dinos football players have been invited toattend the Canadian Football League's combines this spring, theleague announced Wednesday.

Led by reigning Hec Crighton trophy winner AndrewBuckley at quarterback, the Dinos will send five playersdirectly to the national combine in Toronto at Varsity StadiumMarch 27-29: linebacker AdamKonar, offensive linemen SukhChungh and SeanMcEwen, and receiver JakeHarty. All five are eligible for the upcoming CFLCanadian Draft, and both McEwen and Chungh have been consistentlyranked among the top prospects in 2015 and are expected to go inthe first round.

Buckley, McEwen, and Konar were all first team All-Canadians in CISfootball in the 2014 season, while Chungh landed on the secondteam. Buckley became the first player in CIS history to win boththe Hec Crighton Trophy and the Russ Jackson Award for citizenship,athletics, and academics last fall, and he did both in the sameyear after leading the nation's most potent offence – whichincluded his three offensive counterparts invited to the nationalcombine.

Three more Dinos will aim to join that quintet in Toronto based ontheir performances at the regional combine in Edmonton on March 23.Linebacker TannerDoll, defensive lineman TylerLanglais, and receiver Chris Dobko – who completedhis time with the Dinos after the 2013 season – will allattend the regional event in the hopes of earning an invite to themain combine. In 2014, the regional combines accounted for 14additional invites to Toronto, with 13 of those players gettingdrafted – including Dinos kicker JohnnyMark.

The Dinos are busy preparing for the 2015 season under newly-namedhead coach WayneHarris. The team will take the field for Spring Camp atMcMahon Stadium April 29 through May 3.
