CALGARY – The Manitoba Bisons kept their perfect record in tact, defeating the Mount Royal Cougars 2-0 Friday night at Flames Community Arenas.

Erica Reider and Lauryn Keen tallied for the Bisons, while Rachel Dyck posted her second shutout of the short season.
The Cougars and Bisons were engaged in a defensive battle for the majority of the first two periods. Only 21 combined shots made their way to goal after the first 40 minutes of play.

Early in the third period, the Bisons' offence woke up. Erica Reider opened the scoring just 27 seconds into the third. On the power play, Manitoba worked the puck down low and it eventually landed on the stick of Venla Hovi. Hovi slid the puck over to Reider who made no mistake.

Hovi played the role of distributer again just two minutes later. This time she nudged the puck through a crowd in front of the Cougars' goal. Lauryn Keen was in the right place at the right time and slid puck through the legs of Emma Pincott in the Mount Royal goal.

Manitoba would have made it 3-0 if it weren't for the acrobatics of Pincott. On two separate occasions, Pincott went post to post to keep the game within reach.

At the other end Rachel Dyck was superb, stopping all 20 shots she faced for her second shutout of the season.
