Game log: Friday, Oct. 5 – goal in 2-1 home win over UFV / Sunday, Oct. 7 – goal and an assist in 3-2 road win vs. UFV.

Trinity Western fourth-year forward Domenic Poletto had a three-point weekend to lead the No. 10 Spartans to back-to-back wins in a home-and-home series with the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades.

On Friday night at Trinity Western the Calgary native had a goal in the Spartans 2-1 win over the Cascades. 

Then on Sunday afternoon in Abbotsford, B.C. the business student had one assist and the game-winning goal in Trinity Western’s 3-2 win. 

Poletto currently sits tied for seventh spot in Canada West in points (8) and goals (6).

TWU enters this weekend with a record of 7-1-4 and are in second spot in the Canada West Pacific Division standings. 

The Spartans are back in action this weekend with a road game against Victoria Friday, before a home match with UBC Saturday.

Game log: Friday, Aug. 31 – three goals in 7-1 home win vs. Victoria / Saturday, Sept. 1 – 84 minutes played in 3-0 road loss vs. UBC.

Trinity Western fourth-year forward Domenic Poletto led the Spartans to a record breaking 7-1 victory over the Victoria Vikes by notching his first hat-trick of his TWU career. The Calgary native made good on his three shot attempts by finding the back of the net on each strike. 

Poletto becomes the sixth Spartan to record a hat-trick in Canada West play. 

The Spartans have previously scored six goals twice, including last year's 6-2 playoff victory over Calgary and a 6-1 win over Lethbridge in 2003.

In Sunday’s match against No. 7 UBC, Polleto was held in check by the T-Birds in TWU’s 3-0 loss in a rematch of last year’s Canada West final.

TWU currently has a record of 1-1-1 and sit third in the CW Pacific Division standings.

The Spartans suit up this Friday and Saturday in Prince George, B.C., where they’ll take on the UNBC Timberwolves.
