Women’s second star – Kyra Vibert
Kinesiology & Health Studies
Game log: Saturday, Sept. 8 – assist in 2-1 home loss vs. Manitoba / Sunday, Sept. 9 two goals in 2-1 home win vs. Winnipeg.
Kyra Vibert provided all the offence the Cougars needed on Sunday, scoring both goals in the team’s tight 2-1 win over Winnipeg at the U of R Field. Vibert first finished off a beauty of a play that included touches by Sydney Langen, Jet Davies, and Brigit Sinagam, then put Regina up for good with a superb left-footed volley from 15 yards out less than 10 minutes after her first strike.
Vibert also got on the scoresheet in Saturday’s season-opening 2-1 loss to Manitoba, notching an assist when she put a nice through ball to Sinagam, which led to the team’s first goal of the year.
The Cougars (1-1-0) will now get ready for a tough two-match road trip which will see them square off with UNBC in Prince George, B.C. on Friday, before travelling to Edmonton for a Sunday tilt against MacEwan.
