Borrow signs pro contract in Sweden
University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey standout Alli Borrow has signed a professional contract to play with Färjestad BK in Sweden.
CALGARY – University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey standout Alli Borrow has signed a professional contract to play with Färjestad BK in Sweden.
Borrow finished up her Dinos career this past season, being named a Canada West First Team All-Star. The fifth-year was an offensive force all season, racking up an impressive 15 goals on the year – a total that not only led the Dinos, but made her the top goal scorer in Canada West on the year.
Borrow also dished out nine assists on the year for a team-high 24 points. Three of her goals also proved to be game winners.
"I could not have asked for a better time with Dinos women's hockey. This program has helped me grow not only as a player, but as a person, and I will cherish that forever," Borrow said. "I'm very grateful and excited for this opportunity and cannot thank my friends and family enough for the endless support."
In all, Borrow was on the ice for two seasons in the Scarlet & Gold after transferring to Calgary from Lethbridge. The Clearwater B.C. product graduated with 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in a Dinos uniform.
Färjestad BK is located in Karlstad, Sweden – located in the southern interior of the country along the shores of the Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. The team competes in Division 1 and is coming off a perfect 20-0 season in 2022-23.
